Are you a JW yourself?

Good post, Tom. I really enjoyed it. Just like everything else in Satan's system of things, alternatives to God's Kingdom abound. Even holidays established and celebrated are really vehicles to keep people's attention away from Jehovah and the things that are important to Him.

Interesting, I never heard of that scripture in reference to The League of Nations. I think that nations need to communicate to be more peaceful. I mean if it's a choice between The League of Nations, or war. I'll take The League of Nations.

Alas, the League of Nations did not prevent the biggest war in history, only 20 years after its formation. Nor has its successor, the United Nations, prevented countless wars since then.

God's Kingdom, however, will bring an end to war, when it at last replaces human governments. In fact, even now, among those who proclaim that Kingdom, peace prevails that is undisturbed by this world's conflicts. Even now, JWs put into practice what is only a slogan for the U.N: the scripture that says men will beat their swords into plowshares and will learn war no more. (Isa 2:4)

Well, I tend to disagree with some of the Jehovah's Witnesses' ideals. One of which is their total aversion to violence. Okay, if you don't want to be a soldier or join the army, that's fine with me. But don't force a nation to dismantle their armed forces. That will kill them.

As for this Kingdom of God thing, I doubt it will ever work out. With countries like China and America with different ideologies and governments, how are you going to merge them all into one nation? In my opinion, it won't happen.

It is one thing to achieve world peace, but it is another thing to strip the citizens of their right to vote, rule and manage their own country or even their own religion by claiming everything in the name of God. Is He so cruel as to take away everyone's freedom? I don't think so.

Of course, you can argue that placing the world under a single government will not take away freedom, but inevitably people won't be happy. There will be some who prefer freedom of speech, some who prefer communism, even some who demand for welfare/non-welfare. It cannot please everybody.

Back to your request. Well, like I said, the Test Dating Results are horribly inaccurate, but currently I am economically deprived because I haven't got a job. I think it's referring to my life or future in general. And like I said, it might be wrong. All these personality/dating/IQ tests, especially those found for free on the Internet are horribly inaccurate.

And FF is not a game. It's a blog. My writing is more of Fictional Journalism, meaning I create my own news. Of course, there's some real-life or current events thrown in for readers to relate, but I usually exaggerate them for humor. So yeah, it's a parody on journalism. Thanks for the offer, anyway, but you could help me with religious information. Most of my sources in that area are unreliable.

Thank you very much!

"Okay, if you don't want to be a soldier or join the army, that's fine with me. But don't force a nation to dismantle their armed forces."

All is fine, then. Jehovah's Witnesses do not tell nations what to do. We stay neutral in political affairs. (one of the very few religions to do so....most are forever meddling and seeking to write their religious views into law, thereby forcing others to accept them. We, don't do that.) Our refusal to take up arms pertains to us only.

"As for this Kingdom of God thing, I doubt it will ever work out. With countries like China and America with different ideologies and governments, how are you going to merge them all into one nation?"

We are not. We believe God will. It is government of his devising and it comes through his action, not ours. We announce that incoming kingdom, and try to follow its precepts even now, but we have nothing to do with bringing it about.

"It is one thing to achieve world peace, but it is another thing to strip the citizens of their right to vote, rule and manage their own country or even their own religion by claiming everything in the name of God. Is He so cruel as to take away everyone's freedom? I don't think so."

I don't either. Nor does the Bible propose that in any oppressive way. Still, you will probably agree that if we were to take counsel from a higher source, that of our creator, it would probably be him that would teach us, and not the reverse. Some yielding of individual rights is always necessary in any type of cooperative endeavor. The question becomes: how serious a yielding are we speaking of? Very tolerable, in my view. Human governments and the actions they bring about are far more oppressive than anything proposed by God. With regard to him, we agree with the psalm:

"You are opening your hand and satisfying the desire of every living thing." Ps 145:16
I can trust God to bring such a thing about through his kingdom. But not man, through his governments.

"Thanks for the offer, anyway, but you could help me with religious information. Most of my sources in that area are unreliable."

Anything you want my viewpoint on, just ask. I'll oblige as best I can. However, if you want to know the Bible, you are better off accepting the Bible study offer Jehovah's Witnesses make.
